axemaker,
the most consistant lures for me have been anything in the stump jumper range probably about 60mm size, but we have have also had success on much much larger patterns as well. brad |

I had alot of luck with the small sneak scorp in a red black. They seem to love lures that are red.

I had success with the Taylor Mades, Manns 5+, and Storm Rattle Tots. Anything that dives deep !

We had a fair bit of luck trolling for redfin using HB's and I'd agree with the others, anything with red or pink or similar seems to do the trick. I think its anything that looks kinda like themselves really. I think they must eat the smaller redfin themselves. Had some success on the Laser Pro 45 Golden Green (R26) colours. Notice the similarities to the fish?

Yep, I caught my biggest of the only 2 redfin I have ever caught on a firefin scorp 35...
Also caught the other on a kokoda spin-King lure in a rainbow trout pattern.

When it comes to Redfin, anything that rattles or vibrates will take their fancy. I have had great success with bibbed lure's ( with rattle chambers
) to Celtas and the like. Depending on the time of the year any colour from Frog Pattern to Crawdad will work. Never count out the SP's either as I have very good succsess with Bug Ants in the lakes and other plastics like the Squidges in rivers as well as spinnerbaits. Play around and see what works under what conditions and wright it down and compare your results. Good luck.Troy |
