Rod length preferance for dropshotting?

Hey,

Just wondering what rod lengths people are using at the moment for dropshotting. I'm interested in buying a rod specifically for dropshotting and am thinking of getting a rod of around 7'2''.

So what lengths are people using? Go for it!

Ryan.

hey conehead. i would personally go for a longer rode. i.e 7ft or up. the main benefit of dropshotting is you can keep the lure in (suspended) fishes faces for longer and agrivate them into striking. so with a longer rod, especially one with a slightly softer tip, yo can give the lure alot of action, by shaking the tip, while still not actually moving the lure from its position in the water column. with a shorter a rod, a much bigger arc of movement is required to get the same effect and this in turn moves the lure more through the water column rather than keeping it gently inticingly wriggling in the sam spot. get the drift, yesno?

Hi Guys.
We have a new rod called Raptor II from our new ClearCut series ( $295 price range) that is made on a dropshot blank and it is 6'10" 2-5kg. It has a short bream butt so you get the full length of the rod
( no need to cut the butt to get what you want!)

Cheers,
Cindy
