Had a minkota for 7yrs now, been for a few services but i could never complain about the service and at one stage we thought i wouldnt get it back from QLD in time for a comp and the boys bent over backwards to get me a loan(which i didnt need).
And no got nothing to do with minkota just a heads up for those that are unhappy.

I should clear up what i meant by minn kota's service, it was more their distributers that where the problem, I asked if the shaft could be shortened to fit my boat before being sent to me, kota wanted me to buy the unit, recieve it in SA then send it back to QLD to be shortened for an extra $400 plus freight, no compromise on this rediculous idea and no warranty even when minn kota technicians can do the job.

Jarvis walker when contacted where happy to shorten one for me at distributers with warranty intact for an extra $50 and the motor showed up within days of ordering. since then their customer service has continued to be excellent.

Worth the extra grand for a minn kota?? not for me

I was going to go for a kota but their customer service was a discrace!
yeah my hand control oversteers still, ill havta give the siliconespray a whirl.

Go and get a cable steer minkota 55pound or whatever they have, they are cheap ($370 in the US but shipping is a fair bit), work well and last for ages. Chuck a anode on it if you are using it in salt water.

Watersnakes are not good. I dont really like any servo elecy, nothing but problems

Cheers
Chris
