I've always wondered how long a $20 aerator and $3 batteries would last on the lowest setting.

And now I know - 21 hours and counting.............to be continued

Can you test all battery brands and give us feedback on the ducks nuts for batteries 21 hrs aint a bad start, and its still pumping... Nice!

Unless I whip out the old "Rack Dacks" from a misspent youth, (Ages 11 to 11 and 2 months) there's no way I could stretch the budget to name brand batteries. Stretching the elastic on the "Rack Dacks" would be a minor miracle in itself

Yeah thats easy to say now but what would your guess have been before the test

My rookie amazement stems from these bad boys - you've barely ripped the cardboard packing off the batteries and they're flat

I would have said around 48 hours if I had to make an honest guess. I only pulled a similar air pump apart the other day to see what was in it. It's nothing more than a small electric motor actuating a rubber diaphragm, and it only just draws enough power to to operate, so 48+ hours honestly doesn't seem all that surprising.
I hear you on the torches, though. Finding a good multi function torch is well worth the money I think. Having the ability to switch down to lower lumens makes your batteries last a hell of a lot longer. Yeah I've got different ones coz I fish alot at night.

the Kathmandu 230 lumens headlamp for lure casting - not too bulky and comfy to wear

Coast HL8 Focusing 390 Lumen LED Headlamp - heavy and not that comfy but good for spotlighting fish.

And the Skyray King 5000 lumen hand held torch - (Lumen rating not to be trusted) - unfocusable beam - heavy but compact - brightest one I've got - used in conjunction with the Coast Head lamp when on spotlighting recon missions

Just had a look at the maximum run time and my jaw dropped for a second - then I realized 190 hours must be on the "Mood Lighting" setting. Do you know how long it lasts at the brightest setting

2.5 @ 900 lumens, which would throw a 150m beam. 190 hours is @ 18 lumens, which is more than adequate for around the house. Bare in mind, it's the size of a large permanent marker. Take a look at their RS18 rechargeable, 1457 hours at 1 lumen.
