I couldnt have a thread about innovating without mentioning "Ball-Tron".

Were were playing soccer in a vacant lot near work and the ball went out on the street and was run over. The thing popped and thats where it started.

It was hard rubbish collection that week and in the 15 houses between the vacant lot and work - all materials were gathered.

The piss soaked foam mattress made the body armor and wrist shields, with a bit of seat belt material for extra points.

The kids kick board complete with red-back spider stuck to the underside. Felt a bit squishy when I picked it up.

Also the black horns were cut from a electrical cable reel - as were the shin guards - the boots were a cheat - I already had those for riding in the wet.

When I found the blue tarp for a cape, things were really coming together nicely. The purple velvet cummerbund was a gift from the gods. The weapons were a sharpened stick and a bit of bamboo with a ribbon and a globe attached.

The art work on the shield and helmet were done by a coworker who was handy with a pencil. But it was still lacking something - it wasnt until the hairy ball bag was added at last minute, that the photo really came together.

My only regret is, I forgot to put my head torch through the hole I'd cut in the helmet.

I like to think the costume was stolen a couple of days later by an adoring fan - but there's every chance the cleaners just chucked it in the bin.

First couple of attempts at cranka crab claws, first one looks a bit dodge but the second one is pretty good imo.

Fully adjustable sun umbrella chair - $15 sun umbrella from Target and 4 loose cable ties placed at the corners of the chair.

Sun doesnt stand a chance.

I'll chuck a safety leash on the umbrella just in case there's a gust of wind.

p.s. the cheap umbrella is only height adjustable - it doesnt bend in the middle to lean forward or back - otherwise I would have used straight up and down pvc tubes attached to the legs.

Want to get that 2pac/clear coat nice and level on your handmade lollies?

3rpm Disco mirror ball
Couple of cup coasters
Length of dowelling
Chopped eyelets to make hooks
Couple of springs and steel wire

And you're in business .....

Coat it and then as George says "Set it and forget it!"
