Weighted rods
While at the tackle shop i picked up a few rods that seem to have had some additional weight added into the butt section under the cork.
You could feel the additional weight more than the other rods on offer. Just curious in knowing is there a advantage in using one. |

In short yes.
Fuji make a butt cap thats customizable with additional weights. Helps with overall balance of the setup and fatigue.

Just that i noticed it was a few ounces heavier which may not help lure casting 200-300 times in a day.

I use the Matagi weighted butt caps on my rods to get as close to neutral weight between tip and butt as possible, yes the rod will be heavier but has less inertia when being used. |

most 7 foot rods are tip heavy when paired with a reel, this weighted cap counteracts that. you can easily see if it works for you by taping some weight (5c coins or similar) to the butt end of your existing combo and see if you prefer it like that |
