Daiwa Luvias 15 - Shimano Soare CI4+ 13 - Shimano Complex CI4+ 13
G'day fellas, looking to purchase one of the three mentioned above reels to match with a 6'8"-7'0" stick, have had limited success in finding retailers to gather a feel for the Soare/Complex, be great to hear some input from those who've used/own these reels.
I already have a Luvias 12 2506 which I love, but I am looking for something a tad smaller for a preferably 1-3kg outfit, and the smaller Soare/Complex is quite appealing. Cheers |

I have the SoareCI4+ HGS 2000 and was also thinking about going for a Complex as well. I've done a bit of research but not taken the plunge yet. I can't decide between another Soare or a Complex.
Here's the little bit of info I have picked up looking into them. Soare Has 8 bearings. The spool is smaller than the Complex in Diameter. I really like this reel. Its set up with my areal pro 2-7lb rods. It weighs 185g. Complex 2500 HGS Comes in 2 spool depths. F4 and F6. F4 holds less line and weighs more than the F6 version. (195g and 190g respectively) Has 9 bearings. Not sure where the extra bearing is. Spool is larger than the Soare and so the same size as the stradicci4+/rareniums in 2500. I don't know if the body size or the handle length of these 2 are the same length. I don't think you would go wrong with either of these reels. From what i've heard the complex is smoother. |

Had all of them, they just awesome.Soare 2000HGS or C2000S is the way to go fitting 1-3kg.Complex 2500 may look bit bulky on it.2000HGS has 2500 body and gears with smaller spool and rotor,C2000S-is actually a 1000 reel with slightly enlarged spool, different gear ratios also.Luvias 2004 would be spot on as well.

I agree with this. The size of the Soare would better suit the 1-3kg rod you mentioned. I have 2 Complexes, an HGS F6 and a S F4. Both great reels but better suited to a 2-4 kilo outfit. Can't help you with a Luvias as I've never owned or used one.

cheers for the feedback guys, really appreciate it.
I had done a fair bit of research myself over the past few years regarding the JDM gear and all the different abbreviations which drove me nuts initially trying to find relative info. Already own a Sephia Ci4+ DH which I rate... so I was keen to add another JDM shimano to the arsenal. Usually do most fishing from estuaries & flats.. so decided to go for a rod around the 7 foot 6 length instead. I've never matched a 2500 size reel with a rod rated 1-3kg either even at that length? nor have I matched a 1000 size reel with a rod over 7 foot. Can you guys recommend something that would balance well, specifically for casting soft plastics and the occasional hb? I have considered the following for each reel: --------------------------------- Shimano COMPLEX CI4+ 2500S F4: Major Craft Truzer TZS-T762L Tubular 7'6" - Lure: 0.5-7g - Line: 3-8lb - PE: 0.3-0.8 - Action: Fast http://www.majorcraft.co.jp/english/...sp?mode=id/191 Major Craft Volkey VKS-762ML - Lure: 3.5-10.5g - Line: 5-10 lb - Action: Reg - Fast http://www.majorcraft.co.jp/english/...sp?mode=id/178 Shimano Brenious S708ML 7'8" - Weight: 95g - Lure: 3-15g - PE: 0.4-1.0 http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/rod/3528 Daiwa Tournament Specialist Bream TN-SB 762MLXFSOH 7'6" - Lure: 5-20g - Line: 3-5 kg - Action: Ex. Fast -------------------------------- Shimano Soare CI4+ C2000PGSS: Major Craft Truzer TZS-S772L Solid Tip 7'7" - Lure: 0.6-10g - Line: 2-6 lb - PE: 0.3-0.8 - Action: Fast http://www.majorcraft.co.jp/english/...sp?mode=id/191 Major Craft X-Ride XRS-S752AJI 7'5" - Lure: 0.6-10g - Line: 2-6 lb - PE: 0.3-0.8 - Action: Ex. Fast http://www.majorcraft.co.jp/english/...sp?mode=id/163 Shimano Soare CI4+ S709LT 7'9" - Weight: 78g - Lure: 1-10g - Line: 3-6lb - PE: 0.3-0.8 http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/rod/3458 Daiwa Tournament Specialist Bream TN-SB 762LFSOH 7'6" - Lure: 1.5-7g - Line: 1.5- 4 kg - Action: Fast |

Complex+Truzer(all-rounder) or Brenious(mostly sp)
C2000pgss would not balance right any rod longer than 6'6,IMO |

Where about did you end up getting one from? I'm still deciding between a complex or another soare.

If you are mainly fishing plastics and looking at a Truzer go for the solid version, I have the tubular version you have listed.
It's great for hb,s but not sensitive enough for plastics imo. |
