Lowrance HDS Live!

G'day all, been a tad quiet in this forum of late, so thought I'd post a review of my latest acquisition, Lowrance HDS7 Live.

I picked it up from DohDohDoh at a good price and going from an old Hummingbird 598Di, this is chalk and cheese.

I've been very impressed by the unit - the picture is crystal clear and it has put me onto some very good fish in freshwater and estuarine environments. I'm still nutting out the settings for different waters, but am greatly impressed by the unit overall.

This screenshot shows a couple of EP that I sounded up in June. I caught a few dozen from this school - all returned, with the largest being 41cm. It was a grouse day out.

Is that with the total scan transducer or the 3 in 1?

Another question, how do you find the user menu?

Active imaging 3in1 mate - comes default with the unit. That screenshot was a photo, not actual screenshot - it was much clearer on-screen on the day.

It is okay now that I've spent a few hours nutting it out, but can be confusing. Luckily, the default settings are good enough to get you started on the water.

cheers lads
