p.s. Emo - another torch arrived from Ali express today, from a different store, and it took 1 month and 2 days to arrive. The torch you ordered took 16 days - so hopefully it will arrive a bit sooner

Times have changed there that's for sure, I wasn't an early Docks rat compared to some of you guys and I'm sure it had changed even before 2007 or so when I started fishing there. But the amount of development and locked out areas even since then is full on.
I was fishing in the boat with a mate last weekend and he suggested we go up to the Docks for a fish and I realised I probably haven't fished it for 10 years, or if I have I have forgotten.

The headlamp arrived yesterday, less than 10 days from order, It's very impressive...
A mate got me to order him one and hopefully it arrives before the 25th for the NT trip.

Yeah the whole joint used to be a lot flatter. Basically how the Green Roof area was set up - storage sheds - railway lines and big wide areas of concrete for trucks

Heres 2 shots of the same spot many years apart.

Re the light - yeah Ive been giving mine a flogging, just recharge it every night and it should be sweet.

I was out till after midnight Yabbying and testing my new thrower, last night (Bright torch that lights up things 1.2km away)

I discovered very few normal things occur at look-outs along the Yarra at Night - First one had a crew of teenagers doing soda stream bulbs and listening to bad music - the next was weirder

- I was about 200m down a closed road and then I started hearing something in the bushes. It sounded like a human forcefully blowing air through pursed lips and gritted teeth. And what ever was doing it, definitely wanted me to hear it. I tried lighting it up but the bush was too dense to see more than a few meters in. I was glad I had the thrower on me - Anything that looked into that beam wouldnt be able to see for days.

Had an internet guru telling me I could be catching 15 times more yabbies on potatoes - and that liver is one of the worst baits for yabbies

Heres the test - oops looks like I used kidney instead of liver

But there could be a twist to the Meat vs Veg bait debate

in waters with lots of turtles and eels - there may be some truth to it

Inside those sheds at Greenroof was interesting.
There was a workshop where they made props and background scenes for television.
The Aussie Bobsled team trained in there too. They had a bobsled with train wheels underneath and they'd push it along the railway lines for practice.
A couple of music videos were filmed on the wharf using the old sheds as a backdrop.
It was a really popular spot for photographers to do their model shots, it was pretty good to watch too.

There was never a dull moment fishing there...oh yeah, the fishing was excellent also.

I wouldn't think it would be for the tunes...

The old Tram Boat made a few appearances.

There was another one I watched getting made. They told me the title and I watched it on Youtube quite a while later...I cant remember the title but it was a local chick rapper.

That's so bad I've watched it three times back to back.

All his clips are around fishing hotspots - this ones not a bad shallow water squid spot on a clear day.

Plus its one of the better intro's to a rap video Ive seen.
