I have been using the Austackle Dominator of late and find it just as good, if not better, than some of my rods that cost twice the amount...

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I love the Shakespeare X tackle plastic boxes. They are about $8 or so and they have 24 individual compartments (great for storing hardbodys). They also fit into the BlackMagic tackle/backpacks, so they are a good replacement for the stock trays.

Just picked up a Outdoor Expedition Camo Pro Rod 2-3kg rod, and it seems to be excellent at $40 (Usually $80 - 50% off). Seems to be a the same quality of High modulus graphite used on Berkley Drop shots and Trions, Silstar Arctic etc. Comes with Fuji Alconite Guides, even has the label for it. Seems like it will be a great spare rod and one for the kids to try on. Rod is only 6.62ft.

LOL thats what i thought........ like i said, its pretty well constructed, i have seen mentions of it being the same as the Anaconda ones, but its the blank is like the graphite finish of Trions and Drop shots...... there are other Outdoor Expeditions which remind me of my Shimanos with the more textured finish to the graphite...... the Camo ones have a camo EVA grip and a really nice blue colour. I am not sure about the Reel seat. Another thing is that is has a 5 year warranty. I think i may get another one.

I got the last Wilson 7'0" Snapper Medium spin rod - $49. Comes with Fuji Alconites, Fuji seat and good quality cork grips. Thats a change after buying so many Pfluegers (lures) and Ugly Sticks (bait) over the last year or so.
I couldn't build a rod for $180... Last edited by SLAZMO; 22-07-2013 at 05:15 AM. |

I've started is using KIS storage boxes with Plano slimline cases.
Easily keeps close to 8kg of plastics all neatly sorted with terminal tackle equally organised.
