What Else to You Use
In the same vane as the 'What Would You Add' thread., I thought it might be good to see what other thing people add to their gear to make life easier.
I'm not a big fan of the metal hook keepers, but these are great. Fuji EZ Keeper http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...kEnabled=false

These are great to have on the boat. You can get them from most camping stores.

I've lost way too many caps and Craig advised me to use those neck lanyards to clip on to the back of the caps. Have not lost a cap since! Thanks Craig!
![]() I use the suction-capped drink/stubbie holders on the boat and find them a lot better than those plastic fold down ones that you bolt on. They never slip off or tilt no matter how fast you're going. They're expensive but well worth it. I love to stick them at the bow, can also be used to store your scissors and plyers as well as your spool of leader material when winding it onto the rod, better than dropping the whole spool of flurocarbon in the water ![]() ![]() I use one of those stationery shackles on my bum bag when shorebashing for keys etc. Also have one permanently hanging on the boat for keys etc and maybe even the comp keys. Had a comp when the guy couldn't find the key at the last minute. I saw this on Andrew's boat and thought it was a brilliant idea! Also stick some velcro on the back of your handheld GPS, excellent to stick onto the boat carpet. |

Great ideas Carol. Love the stubbie holder as well. I'll have to see if we can get them into the online store.

Bogagrips prove handy when trying to unhook fish or when flathead jump on the hook. The scales are pretty accurate too.
A strikeback lure retriever for onthe blackwood sees me go from a pack of jigs a day to maybe one or two. |

My Shipton Braid cutting scissors are my must have. I'd cry if I forgot them. I'd also cry if I didn't remember my spotter sunglasses.

gadgets gadgets I love me gadgets
Wow! I never knew there were so many gadgets out there. I'm into simple things that make life easier without huge costs.
1/ simple horse hair ties, they are little lacky bands you buy them by the thousand 4 $5.00. and are about 10mm dia. You wrap em on ur trebbles on hard bods and they hold tight never again will you pick up a mass of lures when you open the box as they don't lock on one another. the other plus is throw a lacky on and use a runner to hold the lure beats buying a special lure holder. 2/ a lure drying rack i used a piece of stadium seat foam it is solid so hooks don't rip it apart but hold firm. it is on the side of my console behind my rod rack so when changing lures they always get hung there to dry and they never go back inthe box wet. I find hooks don't rust as quick and lures retain thier sheen and luster after being dried before going back in the box. |
