On behalf of Jarvis Walker and Jarvis Marine Bear we too are proud to be part of the WABT, a lot of effort has gone into the new range of Jarvis Marine Watersnake motors, and we hope that the Lucky competitors who take out these prizes enjoy them very much.
Anyone wanting information regarding the Watersnakes please feel free to ask. We have some innovative designs coming soon and are very excited however they will remain a secret until they are released. |

Watersnake Shaft Measurement.
Thanks for the opportunity to ask questions - here's one.
I am looking to fit a 54lb thrust Watersnake to the bow of a Savage Envoy. I am not too worried if it is underpowered, (I would like to know what you think though - would the 44lb be enough), the question is:- How do you know the correct length of shaft required so that the motor will function correctly. I have measured the top of the boat to the waterline and it is approx. 36inches. This does change (maybe 6") depending on where you weight is distributed in the boat. I plan to have the weight at the front of the boat - (me that is). I don't know if I need the 48 or 54" shaft. What do you think? |

espoton, thanks for you question. I personally would go the 54lb motor for the simple fact is that it will be more efficient (battery usage) than the 44lb would. Take into account days where the current my be running harder, wind is going id the same direction and your trying to fish or maneuver into it. The performance of the 54 lb will be much better as you will not always be on the juice! The 48" shaft length should be more than enough becasue as you say you will mostly on the bow fishing, plus you get full travel in the shaft adjustment.
If you can hang off for a little bit come the 1st week of December there will be some super specials on bow mount Watersnakes. I think you can pick up a bow mount and release bracket for $699 Hope that helps |

As WABT are no longer running events there will be no WABT sponsorship, but JW are a supporter of WAFM so will be around for some time at least.

Suzi, I can assure you that if the WABT events were still running we would defiantly sponsor them. For them time being we will support the mag and website at every opportunity.
Paul November is still looking good but I will confirm. I too am faced with what engine to bolting on Bow mount scissor bracket foot control or Bow Mount scissor bracket tiller control or wireless its one big head spin But then again how about a tiller steer, bow mount scissor bracket with optional wireless remote and optional foot pedal |

Rob
Thanks for the reply, the deed is done I have bought the 54lb 54" version. Went the 54" with a "Just in Case" mentality. The small price difference did make the decision easy. Anyway now have to fit it and get it wet. I have said to the mates that it will improve capture rates by 50% (have relied on the old drift method till now), now I will be able to track around all those dropoffs I haven't been able to get to. Must get a quick release bracket though and have been told to get the Minn Kota version. Do Jarvis Walker make one as they wern't available when I bought the motor? Peter |

Hi Boss, for a craft like your you will not need anything to big. I would suggest the 44lb bow mount as they are on special at the moment for around $599 which includes the quick release bracket. Any pro tackle outlet can order for you.
