2013 Certate

After all these years... All these reels serviced and the crap I've seen.

I've managed to find myself a near mint 2013 Certate of my own, I tried without luck even to make my own from scratch / parts however most are unavailable.

Anyhow a post to keep the forum alive.

Hey Slaz, long time buddy.
Why did you want the '13 Certate in particular?

I'm still running with my '04 original Certates in 1500 and 2500R, using your tips from way back regarding lubes.

https://www.breammaster.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=49807

Still use a mix of Inox grease and oil for the carbon drag washers and repack all the main bearings with MX7 every year.

Managed to pick up a mint '04 3500HD Certate, that I use for heavy fishing at Shark Bay, great reel.

What else you been up to?

Yeh has been. Good to hear they're going strong, lubes keep the world turning - so easy to do some basic maintenance to keep things from going to mechanical sh*t, I've heard some horror stories of people using their reels till they fall apart internally...

With the Certate, I think it was that crossover between the OG Magseal 2010 ugly duckling to the more gentlemanly design of the 2013 that wanted me to invest in one, I'm still a fan of the simple blue of the OG 2004 model but finding one of those is unicorn poo these days.

A lot of these older reels are getting sold off and kids are trashing them so I've just been collecting a few as I go, I think I'm upto somewhere in the 250/- reels at the moment - most bait casters though of the late 90's to early mid 2000's.

I've serviced a few reels in between life's moment's, just been busy with life, house and kids... Few speed bumps along the way but been trying to keep the wheels straight if you catch my drift. I'd love to have it all back to normal and get back into my servicing but it's stupendously time consuming with the process and ordering parts (if they even exist anymore) and the rest.

I've gone out for a few flicks, few winnings and more losses within regards to poor timing and weather - but nice to get out especially in the freshwater systems.

I'm just hoping that this forum could relive itself - and get back to some form of its glory days to give a place to discuss and talk about Australian based tackle / technique's...

There are people here lurking as from the stats shown, FB and Reddit based chat systems are garbage - wish people would return.

What have you been up to since last?
