Yeah the bigger the engine the more fuel you'll burn - even at idle. And the more horses you have - the more likely you are to use them

Wide open throttle burns 3 times more fuel than half throttle - but it might not make you go 3 times faster - so its worth doing the maths on ideal cruising speeds to make sure you get the best out of those 130l......or you can just jam the throttle down at the start of the journey and hang on

Heres a fuel estimator for a variety of brands - its annoying they dont show the speeds the boat is traveling at - I'll keep searching - but I've heard that 3500 rpm is a good amount of revs to cruise on for fuel consumption - obviously it would be different for different boat engine combos but if you arent in a hurry - no need to burn juice unnecessarily

Heres a random boat and motor test - the "sweet spot" occurs at about 3500 revs on this rig (most kilometers traveled per litre of fuel, while traveling at a decent pace) - but 4500 rpms uses marginally more fuel but attains 10kms an hour more speed. - you can see the fuel efficiency drop away after 4500 rpm.

Someone please correct me if I'm interpreting this incorrectly - it wont be the first time

No worries - its nice to have an excuse to travel at a sensible speed - getting an extra 30% to 50% distance out of your tank is just one of them

got the sheerplanks on friday night and ready to be glued!!

Started gluing last night and tonight... had things on during the day so only had so much time.

Did stuff a heap of glue inside a washed out "no more gaps" tube and used the caulking gun with great effect... but had to work very quickly as it heated up rapidly made for applying the glue to the inside of the boat really quick and easy!!

Got a heap of gluing done tonight, only a little bit more tomorrow night and it will be done!!

started pulling out the cable ties as well, i'm impressed on how strong the glue really is!!
