Cant say i've had a problem with the microguide rods i've used

Braid and slightly lighter than normal windons seems to do the trick

I never used them for long casting though, but i could always get my lure stuck in trees pretty good

Nice, Steven. Post up a photo or two some time when you get a chance. Hope you get some decent fish to test it out

The Edge rods really aren't that nice to look at. But I really do like it.

Should match up nicely with that 4000 sized Stella.

I know what you mean mate. I actually liked how simple they looked though. Felt like great blanks and by all accounts nice to fish. Oh, and apparently the grips are "grippy when wet" but to be honest thats not ever been high on my list of requirements. I don't think its ever even crossed my mind. The finish was a let down too. The branding on em was smudgy and blurred. Recoils.... Really nice blanks though!!

I haven't used the AIR bearings, but I do use the ZR in all my casting reels and rate them big time. Did you buy their Alchemy Oil when you got the bearings? That makes a big difference, the light stuff only lasts a session, but it brings my bearings to life.

These bearings are actually designed to plateau your casting trajectory by slowing down your max spool rpm to allow you to use a lower brake setting on sub 1/8th baits without risking overrun. Using them in conjunction with heavier baits will result in slightly (but barely noticeable) less casting distance.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know who stocks megabass rods in Victoria? Ive been looking at them for a while and emailed the distributer etc and havnt got any responses as to where I could go and see some. I really need to feel the rod in the flesh. I don't want to buy blind from japan and hope it feels the way I would have imagined it to!

Or if no one stocks them would someone at the Melbourne fishing show have them on a stand?

Also how did others go about potentially buying their rod blind?

Maybe if I say I want a megabass rod that is very similar to a certain loomis people will know from experience what I'm after if that would help?

Thanks in advance

Another question to throw in the mix, would anyone be able to compare the action and power of a racing conditin 6102ul to any easier to come by rods? Ie, daiwa ags rods (ajing, tournament, battler), nitro vapors, samurais etc etc

Currently looking towards my first mb rod, a bit of an all rounder that will handle bream and flatties. Love the two piece factor of the racing condition but know most of their rods are one piece.
P.S. Nothing noodley like my samurai 201, and prefer forefinger on blank style foregrips if possible

Thanks in advance guys

Alright kids considering heading over to the dark side of megabass rods, chasing locations (online) where I can buy the following rod for close to its suggested retail price of 42000 yen. If that fails me are there any other suggestions for a rod suited to jews on plastics sub 7ft throwing 1/4 - 3/8oz jigheads?

If you can find that one, this one might suit.
