Was bombing out long casts with a heavy drop shot lead the other day.

As I was bringing it in quick for another cast I noticed a big disco ball of flashes chasing it

Switched to a metal slug after the second fish busted me off

But after that, the 20 gram metal raider took over the duties

The skinny straw float takes 2.3 gram or 1/12th of an ounce to get it sitting up right. (with a bit of wiggle room left for a heavy scrub worm)

I couldnt find my old braid reversing spools the other day so I tried doing it freestyle - what a nightmare thatDohwas.

So it was straight down to the Hardware the next day to make a new set

Although I use a bottle top with a drill attachment and 2 litre bottle to take old line off.( Stuff that’s going in the bin.)

a guy on face book just mentioned he cuts knife grooves into a spool and then just cuts it off over a bin

so now I have a back up plan if I can’t find my bottle top

No worries - just remember the bigger the diameter - the faster the line comes off - I go fat on the big jobs
