DSR 820 GLX fix

Hi I’m after some help,I have a loomis drs820 glx that came with the horrible recoil guides and it casts terrible. Has anyone got a newer spin model that can recommend guide type and spacing as I’m doing a revamp. I cut an inch or so off the but and stripped off the guides and I’m thinking of Fuji sic guides in a normal spin recipe. The stripper guide was also way too close to the reel for my liking..
I picked it up cheap second hand and never liked it yet unlike other loomis rods of mine.
Would love some recommendations

I had a rod with the same guide train with the same issues, I stripped the guides and put Fuji Torzite on and what a difference.

There is a Fuji anglers guide to guide spacing, Anglers resources from memory I will try and find a link for you

Have a look through this at the guide software pages might give you some insight

The KR guides are the most used in light guide trains.

Interesting to see what you come up with. I have the model with the Alconite guides and once I cut 2" off of the butt casting with it very much improved from my perspetive. Regards, HBt.

Hi All,

I've got a brand new of these still in sealed rod bag that's looking for a new home as I'm rationalising my collection. Open to offers via PM.
