I fixed one of my boot soles with silicone. 2 years down the track and its still holding.

One fella said that shoo-goo has better holding power but most of my shoes dont last 2 years, so silicone sounds like a goer. I've used black silcone to help repair a net handle and it was an absolute nightmare to pull apart when it needed repairing again What type of boots were they and were you sticking the sole back on. And how often do you wear those boots Last edited by yellow door 1; 23-07-2017 at 07:59 PM. |

The front half of the sole of a pair of blundstone work boots came away within a couple of weeks of purchase. First I tried sikaflex but that was no good. Silicone did the trick and the boots fell apart before the sole even looked like coming off. I wore those boots daily on a building site, so they got a tough workout and lasted about 18 month. Siliconed up a pair of ugg boots too, worn daily when its cold and into their third winter.
The only downside is, after applying the silicone you have to leave it a week or two to fully set.

I found it best to put the silicone on fairly thick, aiming to end up with it about 1mm thick between the two bonded surfaces. Place a light weight on the join while it sets to ensure a firm connection.

I've been wanting to play around with expanding foam for a while now - so I decided today was the day. The stuff was still expanding an hour after I sprayed it.

Well the dirt didnt stick the way I wanted it to - so its going to be a paint job - base coat done - next step - flocking and weathering

Even if 100 blokes on the internet tell you the same thing - they're only telling you what they know....
What works best in your local could require a little more thought |

Just did a search and it turns out there are Fruit flies and Vinegar flies
So depending on where you are - and what attracted them in the first place - those little annoying buggers may be caught on either bait. So even if the fly looks Identical to the one in the youtube video - examine the food source that invited them in and use that as the bait. Coz if your bins have 75 banana peels and 1 apple core - it may not be the apple core thats attracting them. |

Without any tools you'd reckon your session would be over - coz as hard as you try to bend it back into shape by hand -its not going to work.
Luckily the blokes who built the roads along the river have installed "reel panel beating stations". (I think they call them "Guard Rails" and say they're to stop cars veering off the road) But if you wedge the handle between the slot and apply downward pressure - you get your reel back in working order |

I store alot of my stuff in slide out drawers - so I figured having rod racks on wheels was important - but since I added this 8 drawer unit - all the stuff I need access to fits in there. So my rod racks dont need to be as mobile.
