A few hours to Kill

Was visiting a mate when a few hours of time opened up, so we decided to get the boat wet.

While reversing the boat off the trailer, I saw a bust up 30m from the ramp. I was on before my mate had parked the car.

We ended up putting whiting on the back burner and chased the schools through the moorings

That pickled squid looks good. Do you cook them first?

My mate made it and I wasnt paying real close attention- he did boil the squid first to tenderise.

He just sent me this link about tenderizing squid - baking powder lemon juice and sugar are required

Yeah sometimes on those short sessions - its best to take the fun that presents itself - Chasing the Salmon turned out to be the highlight.

Up anchoring every five mins for an hour, trying to find whiting, wasnt as much fun.

My mate sent the Salmon over the to the Neighbours and they came back as patties. After tasting the patties - his 11 year old said to stop mucking around with whiting and just fish for salmon

One of those little windows opened up again but we focused entirely on Squid this time - the leading edges of weed banks in 4-6m was where most of the damage was done
