If you go the bottle top option - just make sure you go as close to dead centre as possible - even mark the spot with an awl so the bit doesnt wander when drilling through.

A few seconds getting that bit right will save it spinning off centre at high revs

double trouble

Surely your ingenious double real setup (in the bottom of the picture), would be more efficient if one of the handles was on the opposite side . Then you can wind in the bigguns with both hands

Haha - I had to look at that 3 times to work out what was actually going on there - for a second you had me convinced I had innovated a 2 reels on one rod set up

Turns out it was a hacksawed off butt almost seemlessly meshing with the rod behind it

This should shave a few seconds off the braid reversing process

Fuel price lock on the My 7/11 app is pretty cool - searches for the cheapest price in a 250km radius and you lock it in and that what you pay at any 7/11 in that area /

30c off a liter today

Worked out to be about $18 saving on a full 60l tank this time.

turns out the 7/11 app just lies about prices to make it seem like youre getting 30c off.

The price at the local was 1.91 on the app but when I got there is was 1.60.

You'll still get the best 7/11 price but its not as great deal as first thought - especially if your 7/11 always has pretty cheap fuel compared to all the other 7/11's in the area

Had to sharpen 7 pencils from scratch - One took 50 manual turns with a sharpener - bugger that.

Its an ancient technique and I stuffed up the footage a bit - but you get the gist

There was far too much passing of the flatty flicker around on the weekend - we did a flatty drift and there were 3 blokes constantly hooked up on micro flatties. This was causing a queue for the flicker - that will not happen again😉

Upgraded the flatty flickers to Stainless Steel from an old pie warmer tray I found.

The coat hanger ones are good (left in the first photo)- but they arent as robust as a bit of thicker stainless.

if you need and easily stowed 2 litre bucket/ legal flatty/whiting measurer.

Kmarts got it

InDohmy local Bay - Legal Flatties and Whiting are 27cm.

I had to snip the lip off the container with tough little snips - then sand it down for a smooth finish. Removing the lip would make it easier to scoop fish off the floor.

Bit its got a thin side for whiting and a fatter side for other fish - A legal pinkie is 28cm - so if you can estimate what a centimeter looks like - it could be of some use there aswell
