and if you are wondering why I'm worried about rolling - you need to watch more movies

The Odessa Steps scene (Battleship Potemkin) has been copied so many times thats its ingrained in my mind

Grabbed a couple of cans of Fiddly Bits in Matt black. The torch holder needed to be “Murdered out”

Obviously 2 cans is way too much for a small job and that kind of helped solve an issue this arvo

I fell for the classic “Gum tree ad bait and switch”

The guy had a few back packs and I asked about the black Kathmandu and the north face

He says no worries come on over

I get there and they are sold but he does have a nice green one he can sell.

At $5 it was too good to walk away from but there was one problem. It’s green

And green clashes with my eyes.

It’s currently in the washing machine. But once it dries - guess what else is getting “Murdered”

Made some changes to the yabbie viewing trays - baits will now be suspended and centralised with some bent coat hanger wire.

Surely no yabby can beat this system - time will tell

Got the head torch. But it’s a fairly wide beam and not zoomable. So not ideal for my purposes. But would make a good camp site light or for late night innovating trips to the garage

Will test it out tonight

I also ordered 4 spare batteries and they sent them inside 4 free torches so that was a bonus

Nice work Larry, some in depth research there. You would have been happy when you got your spare battery holders.

Yeah my light testing dojo is near a spot where blokes meet up and go for walks together at night. So I accidentally disturbed a couple. I saw a tiny green light in the bushes and couldnt work out what it was - so I shone the torch over. It didnt take long to work out that the green light, was a signal to others, that there was a bloke there waiting for a walking partner - but apart from that it was smooth sailing

The sofirn is a super compact, lightweight, cheap and powerful head torch - in many ways its flooding beam is superior to my Led lenser's focus able beam - its definitely brighter at short distances and lights up a huge area well - (but it is over twice as powerful in lumens) - plus it has a weaker bulb right next to it it for a more stealthy approach to the waters edge. Both bulbs can be dimmed and brightened aswell. Not being focusable is its only issue - but theres lots of scenarios where I dont need a focusable beam, And if Im being fair - I doubt anyone uses a focusable beam on a head torch as much as I do. If I didnt use head torches to spot bait and fish - I wouldnt need that feature.

So it would be my first choice on nights where Im just fishing. At around $50 delivered is a bloody good light.

- Yeah the free torches are a nice touch - I posted the photos on a torch page and all the light snobs pointed out, that being a battery case, is about all those torches a good for - but Im still happy

If you've ever drilled holes in plastic - you know there is a tendency for there to be a burr left on the other side of the hole.

And if you are shoving manky bits of fish into that container - those burrs will catch every bit of mank left, as you try to pour out the contents.

Thats why you build one of these
