What do you do when the dodgy rod holders you bought come with bolts and no washers - you head down to bunnings to find they have every sized stainless steel washer in stock - except the ones that would fit your bolts.

Thats when you get the jigsaw out and cut up a Bread board

Due to the age of the wood it will be going into - and the fact that the mounting plate has to be flush with the top edge. - I figured a little extra support wouldn't hurt.

So I've cut up a variety of backing plates and washers to cover all eventualities

What to do when the $50+ lowrance transducer mount doesn't suit your kayak? You run wander around bunnings and make your own for less that $10.

Factory option is $160 and its just some fabric with 2 pockets to hold trays.

I used to think "Snapper snatchers" were a gimmick - but after the last few bait sessions - now I'm not so sure.

Part of me thinks the effectiveness lies in the pater noster presentation straight under the boat.

But the extra flash doesnt put the snapper off -so I took a few sneaky cuts from the Xmas decorations and tied some up

Did you just buy a heap of shorts over the internet only to find they had shallow pockets on arrival?

If you havent had the misfortune of dealing with short pockets - stuff falls out of them when you sit down.

Sending them back wasnt an option - so I went looking for a solution.....

One of the birds at work asked me to plant some corn out the front.

No drama I says

Then when it sprouts she reckons it needs a Scare Crow

Too easy I says

(p.s. the cherry tomatoes out back are about to explode)
