I remember CHUNQX giving a lesson on the effectiveness of Drop shotting back in 2005.

But there were too many pike, couta and little pinkies in the bay for me to consider it - we'd go through a pack of Bass minnows using standard jigheads. The lure losses on Drop Shot were too much for me to cope with.

But on sessions where I can go without a touch - and snags are the only things stealing my lures - Im willing to give it a go

The "even more expendables"

4lb mono figure 8 loop around a ball sinker

and if those loops are too snaggy I might just run a smaller loop or a bit of wire and tie straight to it

yeah small metal loops might be better - or just tying straight to the ball to keep any loops off the very bottom

Yeah I like the versatility and how quick and painless they are to make.

Last few to round out the range of deep drop long boys- 18.1 gram is as big as they got

Just when you thought you were so bored of diy drop shotting and you couldnt bare it any more - theres more

Got to pick up some finer wire and make them more compact - but Im liking where this is heading

Big fail on the 80lb wire - it cuts through 30lb mono at 4kg of pressure

Forceps aren't expensive maybe even Ali express has some and they do work. We have accrued 5 or 6 sets over the years from minor surgeries. They are a disposable item for the GP so we just get him to give us the sets he has used on us. We use them not only for clips and removing fine trebles from fish but also removing pin bones from the Flathead we catch. A very useful tool indeed.

Hope you have to unhook lots of fish with them. There are quite a few different sizes and shapes and the more you have the more uses you seem to find for them. The size you appear to have are excellent for small Bream type trebles and removing pin bones from Flathead. We also use this size for tuning our Hardbodies to track straight.
