The old ring wasn’t jumping the chain every time. I purposely made it small so it would be strong but I think I made it too small

will see how a bigger fella goes

Here’s the old one

A mate just sent a message saying he dropped a snapper rack over the side in a creek.

He says he might be able to net it at low tide.

I wasn’t so sure. A few squirts of the drill and a few spins of the angle grinder. And now there is a plan B

Haha - or a treble for those monsters I catch

Yeah I may have taken my inspiration from other places

As long as we arent out in 20 knots like last Saturday - It may have a chance of holding the 2 tonne rig.

Was making some Velcro line maintenance loops today and made the classic error of not reading the fine print on the packet

(the Older your eyes get - the more things qualify as fine print)

finding out the Velcro had a sticky back was a huge disappointment when I got home.

first I tried sticking them to paper to get rid of the stickiness

then hot water

then sticking them to dirty bits of wood outside

but just like you fight fire with fire - fighting the sticky with sticky was the answer - duct tape to the rescue.
