Great idea!
How will this affect the comps but?
If its like other size limits, you cant be in possession at all, so that would mean dead or alive

Are there still commercial fishos in the gippy lakes?

Whilst i agree that a slot limit is a good idea i wonder how the comps will run, especially the ABT and VicBream. the weigh in is half the fun, won't be as much atmosphere if it becomes a catch-photo-release- comp

Slot limit

Bloody amazing. I haven’t been active on Breammaster for 6 or 7 years. Way back then I was proposing a concept of “Trophy Bream Waters” where a slot limit applied between 28 and 40 cm at Mallacoota, Tamboon, Bemm amongst a few others. I was canned, most members opposed the idea. When Fisheries were surveying I wholeheartedly supported their idea for the Lakes and now it seems so do most others. I’d still like it extended to these other fisheries though.

Agreed, strange that we have not heard anything in regard to this from the Tournaments affected.
Could it be that they are still working with Fisheries in exemptions?

I haven't read the original post, but perhaps the main reasons for discord among anglers in the early days was for the reason written by Nick. Hard to make slot limits work in a tournament situation unless its catch, photo, release.
Perhaps the change of heart has more to do with the need to curtail large numbers of trophy fish disappearing in white buckets and we as anglers see the need for change
