Ok. So effectively the luvias would be a more saltwater friendly reel, as the Zaion material is corrosions resistance, and it has more CRBB's than the certate.

Earlier some people suggested changing the handle if i got a luvias. Would someone please ellaborate why?? And possibly show some before fter shots of a luvias that has had this done??

I don't think there is a need to replace the handle on the Luvias since it is already a machined handle. However, if you happen to purchase the Certate, you would probably want to replace the handle to a machined one since the stock handle is a foldable handle.

Do i have to order that online form a specific place, i have no idea where i would get one.

Why would you want to replace the handle on a Certate "it's just a handle" I haven't replaced the handle on mine and still catches fish

There is nothing wrong with the stock Certate handle. It's just some people prefer the machined handles because they think it feels more solid, which is probably why the Certate 3500HD custom has a machined handle. It also makes the reel look a lot better IMO.

I just got a new 2000 Certate and replaced the handle with a 45mm RCS Machined handle. There isnt much difference performance wise, I think its just the aesthetics. Maybe a tad lighter too.
Definately looks a lot nicer then the folding handle.

The handle cost me about $60 from the US. From Japan your looking at around $90-$100. Probably same price if you got one here.

Ive got a Luvias and a certate, well just sold my luvias.. but the certate sh!ts all over the luvias. The zaion material feels too "plasticy." It weighs less then the certate but I prefer the solid feel of the certate.

Also added a 2004 RCS Spool to it, which helps to reduce the weight and adds to the bling factor

certate and luvias r not comparable. if u can get a good deal on a certate, why go hyundai when u can get merc

Just asking, im looking at my Luvias now and it has a machined handle, i see no points where it can be folded? Although i would change the knob on it to a cork one if you can get your hands on one. Much more comfortable and better looking. Il post up some pics later.

The luvias comes with the machined handle which does not fold.
The certate on the other hand comes with the folding handle. I prefer the machined handle and ordered an RCS one for mine.

Agree with steve and crayfish on the C14.. looks like something from kmart.

Dont have one myself yet, but definately looking at it. Only draw back, for me at least, is the high gear ratio. I prefer it to be a bit slower for the HB's I use.

Good luck with your decision making mate. Always hard to know where to spend the kind of $ your talking about.
