im just curious about bream hitting hard bodies at the boat. i caught a nice 33 cm bream about a foot away from the side of the boat and 20 cm's underwater and one that was 23cm long. Does this happen regulary?

It happens a lot.
The fish usually follow it for a while then hit when the prey is about to escape.
