Laser Pro 45's info pls

I'm using size 12's on my laser pros but I noticed this morning that the lures riding majorly nose down, nearly vertical. At the time I was also using a wire clip 2 attach the hb and the front treble & split ring were removed.

I took the clip off to see if that helped matters and if anything it seemed worse,

When new they come with n# 10 trebles, so I've now got some of those but have yet 2 try them. Also I replace the rear split rings with "luresavers" which may be lighter than the standard split rings I'm not sure.

Are they meant to ride nose down ?? how does this affect the hook up rate ??

Dont worry about using all that hardware on them. Halco has made the hooks a little more heavy duty than before. Just remove the bottom treble and split ring and upgrade the end one if you really want to. Tie a leftys loop through the eye and they will work fine. I caught my fish at the last night comp on them and this setup didnt fail me.

Im using gamakatsu size 8's on the tail treble.

I use them as they are, i just replace the rear treble for a #10 gama. I leave the middle treble on but thats the way I like it, i have tried it with out the middle treble and I think they swim better with them on. I hope i havent started anything now.

Nah i reckon we fish them how we fish them mate. I just like a slightly floating lure so i can retrieve it over snags etc.

Those hooks seem to hold fine- cant be any worse than the sx 40 hooks i was snap today on a 33cm fish...

Last time i fished the blackwood Grant and i were both using tilsans, he had the middle treb removed and i didnt, he was getting hits and not hooking up while i had got 2 fish to the boat both hooked on the middle treble. I think the bream were coming up from deep thats why they were getting the middle treble. Grant put the middle treble back on and hooked a fish on that treble straightaway.Something to think about i guess but yeah what ever suits the user is what it comes down to in the end. I gotta get down that way soon and start prefishing for ptq round 3.

I always use 12s on the lazer pro 45 and i have never had any problems. Dont worry if the lure swims downwards a bit, it dont mater u will still get fish.

Thanks for all the info guys, I'm getting a couple more laser pros soon so I'll take one out stock standard and check the action on that and compare it to my modified one.

Scooter, let me know when yuor coming down and i'll take my boat out too.

I think when we use lasers its usually on the flats and they get pretty close to the bottom anyways so the middle treble might not be worthwhile. On the blackwood the middle one is a must cos the fish are usually deep and hit a lure from underneath.

Well thats my theory anyway
