Prawnstar shrimp

Bought a Prawnstar Shrimp 85g in honeypot colour on the weekend. What do you guys think of them and from reading a few articles they catch a wide range of fish.

well, i caught this one on a pink one in the smallest size, linky:

Prawnstar Catch!

The only problem i have with them is the hooks aren't the sharpest, not sure how easy they are to replace.

noticed you have an AV-20 and Rack Raider 6'8". I am thinking of getting this as my new combo, perhaps a AV-15. What are your thoughts on the 2.

Actually, for the money the Rack Raider is a great rod. I usually use it as my flatties stick matched up with my stradic 2500 and it is great to fish with. I picked mine up for $99.

The AV-20 caught me my first 2 bream ever, so its a great little reel too, probably more suited to the rack raider than a 15, but best bet is to try both out on the rod and see what feels right for you.

For the money, the avengers are excellent value.

I have replaced the trebles on mine with owner trebles in the size 8. I haven't found a suitable hook for the top hook though, I was thinking a small suicide hook would suit.

Well I ended up getting the Raider Bream Finesse 7'6" matched with the Avenger AV20. Will spool it with fireline tonight and get it broken in.

Hey Gutsy. The only problem you might have using those on bream gear in your area is the odd jack or decent cod belting them. At ~$10 a pop thats gonna get expensive! Good luck though, let me know how they go.
