small running repair question...

Hi,

Was just wondering whether it would be ok to use superglue to plug up a small gap between the guide on the tip of the rod with the rod.

Its just causing a few tangles every few casts.. getting bit annoying. The top guide isn't damaged, and will not fall/break off i don't think..

juss wondering what u guys & gals think

Cheers

I don't have access to a camera, however let me try describe the problem a bit better.

The top guide has a "bent V" piece of metal which holds the sides of the loopy part of the guide to the rod. The bent part of the V is the bit which has come off the rod.

Also, I forgot to mention that its a graphite rod. I'm pretty sure there is a fairly thick laquer around the graphite so the glue won't be in direct contact with the graphite.

Hi Oscar,
Yes, you can use a drop of superglue or 5 min Araldite to hold down the support arm but it probably won't last too long due to expose to the elements (UV and salt).

Best bet is to get a new tip top fitted or replace it yourself.

Good luck.

I would get a new tip as they only cost about 5 bucks.
