l love Australian products and would always support anything towards keeping money in Australia but l can't find anything wrong with this picture.

Is there a hugh tax that l'm not aware of or do the electrics not work in Australia, can someone please explain to me why its better to buy a Hornet, Stacer ect (aussie made boat), instead of this??????

l will be ready to import one early next year and l'm a bit sceptical because this boat seems so much better, and cheaper than any other Australian Munufacturers Boat. How is this??

I wouldnt mind importing a nice Bass boat just so i could look at it, there so hooowt. It just wouldnt suit my type of fishing though.

How much do you think it would cost to bring in the country considering Aussie $ vs US$, import tax etc etc. I know bugger all about importing etc but I think it might end up costing you a fair bit of dough

the aussie dollar is pretty strong at the moment so the cost for the boat would be around $17,000 Australian. Don't we have a free trade agreement coming up, early next year?? l'm thinking the transport cost couldn't be more than a few grand. Mate l'm prepared to spend up to $23,000 on that, compared to what you get for $23,000 over here.

if you get onto some of the guys that bring hotrods into the country you might be able to share the cost of a container i know a few blokes that bring stuff in from the states a few times a year some times they dont fill the container could help to keep costs down a bit

Check the insurance. I beleive the premium is 10% of the value of the item.

The strong A$ should will work in your favour, just make sure the bank doesn't rip you off blind with the FX transfer.

No too sure if the free trade agreement will change anything mate. Having said that, importing just about anything into our country is cheaper than sourcing it here.
If you can organize the shipment and do all the work yourself, rather than gettin and importer to do it, I'd suggest you'll save a lot of dough. Also, that boat would be the equivalent of closer to a $30g boat here IMO.

its one of the sexiest boats i've ever seen, but the one thing wrong with the picture, is that it is a fibreglass boat. if u want to use it for breamn, or codn, you need to be able to get your boat in close to structure, where the fish live, the prob. with this is that fibreglass and snags don't go well together, thats the one reason why i'd go a hornet trophy over the basstracker

Breamaddict, a while ago most people would have agreed with you about fibreglass, but not anymore. Take a look at the latest fibreglass bass/bream boats. They are super strong boats that handle the conditions very well. The FullBoar is a perfect example.

nah, i got ot agree withh breamaddict, for me a tinny allways wins, u scratch a tinny and it looks rugged, if scratch a glass boat, say on a oyster rack it just looks shokin.
i dont think imporrting, my dads mate bought over a big caddie and it cost him about 4k for shippin(dont quote me)

When you look at what you can get for your dollar over in the US, it's hard to look past them. The Skeeter boats are right up there as well.
