Squidgee braid.
Haven't seen any talk of this yet, so I'll throw in a quick test report and ask any others if they've tried it.
I've been using 4 lb squidgee braid on one of my outfits for about 6 weeks now. I'm very impressed. Its much finer than the fireline and casts superbly. It has a very silky feel to it. I've had no troubles with tangles and loose loops with S.B., it's much easier to handle than fireline. Knot strength seems excellent, I've had fewer breakages since changing. I can't find any thing bad to say about it at all, even the stealthy grey colour is not to hard to keep your eye on. I've also been throwing some 20 lb stuff around on a surf outfit and have experianced none of the troubles I've had with earlier superlines All in all I'm very happy with it and will change my other rigs over as the lines come due for replacement. Anyone else using it? good or bad reports?

The four lb is finer and lighter than the fireline, and I guess it floats, maybe neutral, haven't really looked ie its usually under some sort of tension, I'll check tomorow.
I've only fished the twenty lb in very rough surf so couldn't really say. Yeah I double (or more) my twist with all superlines. My usual rule is the finer the line the more twists I use, double that for GSP's So wen your talking gossamer thin 4 lb Squidgee braid, I put about 45 twists in a bimini, and the knot is still tiny.

Question for the shop guys
I've looked at the squidgy braid as I have just gotten a new rod and am in the market for a reel and will need to spool it with something. I'm currently using 4lb fireline without complaint.
Has the B.M. shop considered stocking it ?? I'd rather send the $$ their way.

u can't go wrong with squidgy braid. it is better than fireline because it is softer and comes off the reels straight and not in coils like fireline
