Talking which boat???

hi all im after some advice on a a tinny, i think ive got enough saved up to get a small tinny and motor.im looking at 3.5m upward with abou 15 hp on the back im looking to spend about 5k
i recently stumbled along the quintrex punts on the hunts marine web page, they look pretty good re: easy to power and cheap.
i was wondering do they ride as hard as ppl say? and would it be suitable? i was looking at the_fanatics boat something like that is what im after.if it hasnt got casting decks etc i dont mind.
BTW im vic based and want to use it in the nong mallacoota, bemm river, dockland and sometimes eildon and mulwala.as always all opinions, thoghts ideas etc very much appreciated.

Gday mate sorry for the late reply

I just scored a 3m vee hull and am doing that up atm- see the super punt thread. Just put the first layer of marine varnish on tonight so the carpet willl be going on this weekend.

If your possibly considering doing comps, go 3.7m plus. You can always do up an older boat into a very respectable craft. Saying that you can get a 3.8m quinny explorer hull for stuff all or even a stacer proline hull and do it up, then get a second hand 15 or 20 motor.

Its always tough deciding on what to get and believe me there will be many more decisions on the way if you get a boat...

Bream addict,
for 5k I think if you look hard and keep your eyes open, you can probably score a larger dinghy about 3.8 - 4m + . IMO, for estuary and river fishing, unless the winds' blowing strong, the ride of the boat doesn't really bothers me.
Get as big a boat as you can afford for the comfort as well as safety also.
I've had a 4m dinghy and that size is just nice for 3 guys fishing lures. 4 for a day out bait soaking is not a problem also. Hope this helps. Cheers!
