poppers

Hi there,
does anyone know of any good small poppers for bream?
Fishing last weekend, chucking right into the snags and letting the lure float still, the bream were coming out of the wood and smacking it of the surface. made for some good veiwing. explosions on the surface. i reckon a small popper would be great fun.

cheers, steve.

For something different, try the Smak Skywalker.

Another good one is the Koolabung cicaada fizzer, molded on a real cicaada, got my first two bream on a surface lures on one last week. 3 casts 2 fish, not bad!
Go for dark colours like black and use an ulra slow retreive with plenty of long pauses....up to 1 minute even.

Weekend

Hi Steve,
We'll have to get our weekends syncronized so we can get out again.
Sounds like you had fun last weekend. what was the score?
I got a 3kg Mulloway the weekend before. the tide was that low I was flat out getting the boat in anywhere. still, had heaps of fun.

Ron.

my fave two would have to be the cicarder fizzer in either black or red/yellow or the R2S buggie in black as shown below
but we have caught bream on alot of dirrent surface lures such as kakoda cugga bug

i think the r2s buggy pops are good but not to be rude i think you would have more fun catching tailor, trevally and queenfish rather than bream. but i good time to use them is during the summer months.

That be the Hopper Popper Dan? The one that looks like a Grasshopper??

Don't forget the Sugoi Mini Splash - it outfished all the above mentioned surface lures 3 to 1 at the Clyde ABT round
