Knot in Fireline

This may be a silly question, but is there a 'special way' of getting rid or a bird's next knot in fireline? It was hell windy and the tangles were real bad. In the end I had to end up cutting the line! Also seem to even look like there were 2 lines coming out of the spool! I rarely end up i the knot but this was real bad and extremely frustrating.

Any advice would be appreciated as fireline ain't cheap!

Yer thats happened to me a few times. It could be that you are over spooling the reel. The only thing you can do when that happens is unload the reel to were the second piece of line is coming off, yes i no that is very fustrating.
Hope that helped

when you seem to get 2 lines coming off the spool, just gently continue to take line off and it should eventually come undone. but do verything GENTLY, because if fireline gets a crease in it it will often break easy as!

Probably best to put it away in a box and get the spare spool out...you dont want to be spending hours durnig a fishnig session trying to fix it...high stress levels...hehe

also better to try fixiing it at home out of the wind

u wouldnt believe how much fireline iv lost to stupid birdnests...and how frustrating it can be!

Gees, smart thinking 99! Never thought of carrying the spare around! Doh!

You could say I rarely get knots & birdsnest, I think its because I tried an overhead cast like I see most people do. I normally do a site cast!

Well, I'll start carrying a spare around. And the night before, I went bait fishing and hooked on to a bl'@@dy dinghy that went speeding past .... and lost half a spool of line! Boats should be banned that's the only solution to this!
