Rod blank difference
Hi, juat got a replacement samurai 201, for one I broke. The rod feels very different to the one that broke. It's a lot stiffer in the tip. I really liked the softer noodly tip I had on the previous rod as I felt it helped me with less pulled hooks. I liked being able to lift the rod with some pressure to set the hook in a smooth sort of way. The rod is the same reaction 201, the same series. The broken rod was about 12 months old or so.
Has anyone encountered this before? Has samurai changed the blank slightly? Is it possibly just in the way it was built? I assume these are all machine built for this sort of price. |

when the tip and guides have been wrapped it will be softer if you are just flicking it around to get a feel for how it is .
you will find that putting the blank under load it will probably feel close to what you had . |

Thanks for the reply. On the first and only use I caught 20 fish on it (small to medium reddies) so it did get it to load up. It's definitely different. I guess I will just have to get used to it.
