Bream rod ideas needed

Hi guys,

Thought i'd start a more current thread pertaining to bream rods

I'm currently in the market for a few rods, primarily for chasing bream on hb's, and running braid and flurocarbon
I'm after peoples thoughts on :

- two rods for 2506's running pe.6
- a rod for a 2004 running 2-3lb fluro
- a rod for a 1000 runnig pe0.5

Budget for each is between $3-600

Lure weights - typical bream hb

Let me know what you reckon

Cheers

Nagz

Major craft MSX limited MLS-S64UL

Please buy one and tell me its good.

It is amazingly priced considering its a 2015 model and has torzites. I would love to use it with 3lb fluro and HB's casting along pontoons boats jettys etc.

I use a palms molla for the 2506 application. I have the 7'3" ML version and can't put it down of late

MB Deep Throat - pick it up and you'll realise just how spot on it is for a HB 'all rounder' - perfectly matched to a 2004

A Tournament Specialist Bream has satisfied my Bream needs. Nice soft tip that loads light weights very well. Ratchety reel seat is pretty awesome.
However, the 1 1/2 design can be awkward/risky during transport or mobile situations.

Apart from an AGS rod, I wouldn't go further.

For the 1000 a Loomis 842-2 GLX and for the 2004 a Duffrod X series 842-2 or maybe a Battler Feral Kat. Good luck with your choice .

For straight thru i use an edge bsr 702-1. Very nice rod. Look around for a special on them or a second hand one to meet your budget.

Otherwise ask Martin Lo about the Phenix rods

Haha you know Nagz...so here's a list of Non-phenix rods I'm fond of. In general I think I just like nice rods.

Megabass Orochi XX F2-611XX Dropshot. a pretty analog to the M1 69L for the PE0.6

Heartland 6101LFS AGS 13 level direction. an analog to the Elixir. for the 2-3FC crank

as to the Iron feather for the PE0.5.....uh A custom based on an IF I guess.

Oh and for a K2 712L...the Destroyer X7 F2.1/2-611X7S...the MB guys really know how to source a good blanks

1003 - Gekka ags rod ----- short option Nories structure 2-5lb 6"2"

2004 - deepthroat with Fluro parabolic bend it has u won't pull hooks on hbs - for a plastics rod look at the tenryu hectric Impact cracker of a plastics rod and Japanese quality but I'd run braid for that option

2506 - edge 4-8lb 7" , Beowulf battler, or a the x7 powerhouse megabass

Also if your into custom build rods you have
Acm custom rods
Miller rods

I'll post some pictures of my acm custom once i get home from my swing
