New 2015 Emeraldas 'AIR'

New emeraldas AIR just popped on Daiwa japan due for release in August
I took some screenshots of the poorly translated description specs and some photos.

Unfortunately only 1 of the 3 images is displaying properly im not sure what platform its built on, maybe a luvias with an extra spool bearing ? i dont think its built on the caldia because there already is a emeraldas mx which is a caldia with some paint spool and handle. Maybe even built on the exist judging by its price an exist with alot less ball bearings maybe ?

It has a suggested retail of over 500 aud which is the same as a morethan compared to a morethan it has no super metal body no saltiga gears and 3 less ball bearings.

No word on where its made for all you made in japan enthusiasts but for 500 dollars it has to be. The most expensive Not made in japan reel at the moment is the Gekka i think at around 320.

These are the only facts i could really figure out will have to wait until someone buys one and strips it down to really know.

Major changes are:
ATD
Mag seal
Mag seal Ball bearings
Mag seal line roller
Custom emeraldas styles air spool
Emeraldas knob with emeraldas logo
8/1 BB
Paint ( never been a fan of the more recent emeraldas styling but some people love it )

The reels will be quality no doubt, but the colour looks terrible.

Looks to be based on the 2012 Luvias with the addition of Magsealed bearings, ATD, new handle and minor cosmetics. That chunky rotor looks ugly IMO. For the money I'd rather a Morethan or even an old school Emeraldas Colossal

Looks like the rotor is from the Caldia.

Luvias body, Caldia rotor and the addition of magsealed bearings and ATD. Maybe a way for Daiwa to get rid of 2012 Luvias parts in anticipation of the 2015/2016 Luvias? Much like the Bradia (Certate body and rotor from lower tier model) when the first series Certate was being discontinued. One for the fanboys, definitely not worth the price IMO.

your not wrong Klop it does have the same rotor as the new caldia. But the new caldia's air rotor is more refined than the old one on the 2010 tates and current luvias i don't believe it's zaion though, if anyone know do share but i think it looks alright still reckon they should have used the zaion air rotor off the tates or even the exist and steez ones they're even more refined and as you say less bulky.

Overall I think it looks pretty sweet, I like it more than the last Emma they did and more than the MX, I won't be buying one though. I'm itching to see what the 2016 tates look like, will have to decide whether to go for the 2016 or grab another 2013 on run out prices.

I need to hold out for 2016 tates. But very hard when the luvias will probably be out with this reel too!

No releases for july and start of august maybe end of august start of september.

The new rods for july are a couple of eging ags sticks including a top of the line overhead eging ags stick a benikiba ags ( snapper light jig )stick and a new gekka agjing stick.

start of august sees the emeraldas air and a half dozen new jigs.

Not sure about any Australian only domestic releases like battler commander we never get aus only reels, the only reels which we get not available to japan are the ballistic ex and procyon which are actually made for the US market. As far as i can tell the sol is the only reel which dosent occur in the US or japan and does in Australia.

Ill keep monitoring though.
