Unhappy Quintrex topender

Last time I was here I was saying that I had ordered a 481 top ender well its arrived and being fitted out with some extras min kota sounders wash down pump plus fit up for 70 HP Yamaha.

All the plumbing was done at the factory, and that's were things went a bit pear shaped the front live was not installed but simply plumed to the existing centre storage compartment which is a Rotamold not shore of spelling but you get the idea!
I believe it is not deep enough to use as a live well and that is not even its purpose.
On the day I looked at the boat the quintrex Rep was there and so in consultation with the sales manger they found away forward and have it swapped over with a live well that the boat place had on another boat
this a picture of what my expectations of the live well would a regulation 70litre live with dividers as per picture if I can work out how to do that bit of magic ......... sorry tried maybe some one could put a picture up of the live fish well ! to help me out for the moment till get the picture thing worked out thanks

Ps I have not mention the place where I has done business because in all fairness its not there fault and they are doing there best to help rectify things.

It might be an unpopular opinion considering there are Huge numbers of quintrex sold each year. However from my experience having owned numerous branded boats including quintrex, there really are MUCH better small aluminium boat manufacturers out there aimed at serious rec fisherman.

I cant comment on their cruiser/family packages but their fishing packages are outmatched in price and quality across the board.

You sound like a far more patient man than i, if they had drilled holes (plumbed ) a storage well in my boat and said "LOOK A HOLE WITH WATER ITS A LIVEWELL". I would of said go back get a whole new blank do it again, or simply walked out and asked for my money back.

I couldnt believe quintrex (forget the name of their parent company ) attempted to package their boats with vortex/Maxus engines a few years back. What an obvious sacrifice of quality for profit. Their argument was laughable "cheaper entry prices for first time boat owners". Here have a cheap engine it might not work but at least you own it.

Is this what you speak of Woy Woy?
Plenty big enough as a livewell. Just make sure they fit a pump with sufficient capacity. The original was no where big enough to get water to it.

Thank you CK for the picture ! That's exactly what I wanted them to install and I hope that is going to happen this time.
I have just asked the people selling me the boat to check the pump out, going off your commits about the pump being to small

regards woywoy

Also make sure they dont tee the overflow into the anchor well drain. It wont have enough fall. It requires a separate one. Investigate the possibility of plumbing the bottom draining hole too. The well will not fully drain otherwise. To completely drain it means emptying it to the bilge past some carpeted storage that will no doubt be unsealed timber so I am not keen on this getting continually wet.
Also check the fit / way its sealed. Mine has overflowed twice wetting everything in the storage area under the deck.
Hope the attached pictures help to explain this a bit better.
Not sure if its clear in the pic but drain has a high point at the hull meaning it wont drain fully.

To plumb the front rotomould compartment as a livewell is a factory option from Quintrex, I can't understand what the issue was??? Unless the dealer themselves have setup the livewell configuration and plumber the wrong compartment? To me its sounds like what they have done, which is laughable because its just so stupid of them. Its a pretty quick job to plumb the correct compartment and this should give you a 60ltr livewell from memory? Maybe just ask who setup the livewell, the dealer or Quintrex - 20 bucks says its the dealer and nothing to do with the manufacturer.

Not beyond possibility's

Well kingy1978 that's not beyond possibility's but on the day this all unfolded the sales manger at the boat place said the country sales person from quintrex would be there at lunch, he would hand it over to him to sort out saying that it was done at the factory and was not an after market arrangement.
It was only after the sales manger at the boat place took hold of the problem that thing's went forward and the problem was conceded a reasonable easy fix by putting the correct live well out of a boat that was set up in the yard I only hope it is the one that I wanted in first place with the divided section in it 70 litre regulation live well with a rubber seal and aluminium backing on the lid the sales manger said it was all in hand so what can I do but wait ......
