Battery locations in boat
Battery locations in boat.
I know a lot of bass boats run both electric batteries and crank battery positioned at the back on the boat. I have just bought a Bluefin Thundercat 4.95 and going to install a 80 lb Minn Kota Fortrex. I am wondering where to place the 2x electric batteries? Do I place them at the back of the boat or at the front. Does the weight displacement effect the speed and handling of the boat. Are there advantages or disadvantages to the position of batteries? |

Back!
It affects both the running speed, fuel economy and handling of the boat. All the heavy items go to the back. |

Load up your boat with the normal amount of fuel/gear/people then test run your boat with the batteries in both the front and rear positions before you install them. All boats are different and you need to know how you boat performs with the batteries in different positions.
There is no one correct answer for front or rear installation. The correct answer is what best suits your boat. |
