We are also happy to announce that after a bit of effort we have managed to secure a new start and weigh in location, the old location was prone to having boats swamped and led to competitors taking their boats out of the water before weigh in which was holding up the process.

The new start and weigh in location will be the Canning Bridge Rowing Club. We hope that competitors will find this new location to be better than the old location.

hey Ian,

Would there be the option to trailer your boat as it gets fairly rough going across to the swan on windy days ?

Cheers

There will be no trailering of boats. It will be up to you to allow yourself enough time to make your way to the weigh in location, it is also up to you to drive your boat to the conditions on the day. In the middle of Melville water it can be very rough however going from the Narrows to the Canning it will be side on and should not present any major issues if you pay attention to what you are doing.
If the location is a failure then I will be happy to get feedback by e mail after the event.

Good idea Ian, I know in the past the start was moved to the ramp because of weather, but the weigh in was always in the same spot regardless of the weather. Also yes some people retrieving their boats prior to the weigh in and the holdups associated with it were a pain for everyone else, so IMO (for what its worth) a good call. Cheers.

Guys,

Havent fished a Perth comp before looking forward to it. Just a question though am I correct in assuming the closest launch spot for the comp is the deep water point ramp?

Hey Ian,
As it is the Easter Long weekend this week, is Monday going to be open to Pre Fish, or does Sunday evening ban commence
Cheers

Pre fish ban starts on the Sunday... Sorry.

Any you catch on the Monday will be one that you definitely won't catch on comp day.

I have to apologise for this round, I thought I had all of the comps out of holidays and long weekends, so there would be no issues but somehow I got this one very wrong.

OK Guys not long to go now, if you can get your entries in if you are wanting to fish it would be appreciated. Due to the long weekend (Friday and Monday) there will be no late fee for entries received by close of Business Tuesday afternoon.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there.
