Yo-Zuri fluorocarbon. Any good?

I'm heading down to my local tomorrow to pick up some 6lb fluoro, was wondering what the Yo-Zuri fc was like. It's a pinkish colour, and seems nice and supple/soft for a fc. Cheers, Jim

Sorry just realised this is in the wrong area, should've gone in the leader section, if you mods want to move it go ahead.

Any particular reason why you want to try it?

There are some proven brands on the market that a lot of guys used with great success.

Is it a price based decision or value for money thing that attracted you?

Yeah it is a pretty good price, but it looks pretty good, so I thought I might give it a try. Probably better than the Vanish i'm using at the moment. Just wanted to see if it's worth using before I buy it though.

No reason, why?

Pink fluoro? Not sure if it is a good thing. Even if I didn't use it I feel that I can comment. It's an open forum isn't it?

I've been using it in 4lb and 6lb and found it to be quite supple, haven't had any issues with it breaking prematurely, i've used it around snags and rock shelfs without any issues haven't found it to break any more or any less than rockfish that I normally use it's just a bit softer. I bought it mainly because of the pinkish colour was interested to see if it was harder to detect in the water than normal FC haven't noticed and difference with regard to more fish caught the price was around the same as Sunline. Ill continue to use it quite like it.

Nice i'll give it a shot then. They reckon the pink colour doesn't reflect light when it gets nicked or scratched unlike normal coloured fc.

Haha yeah I bought it because it was cheaper than other fc and came in a larger spool. That should've been enough to warn me haha.

Ended up getting some nitlon dfc 6lb as it comes in 100m spools as opposed to the 50m of the yo-zuri. I tend to go through fluoro rather quickly in the shorter lengths, so its good to have a bit extra. Cheers, Jim.

Nitlon was my go to fluoro for a long time. Great around snags and pylons. I still have some in 8lbs.

You won't be disappointed with Nitlon

Yeah it seems to be pretty good quality. It's certainly better feeling than vanish thats for sure . I should get a chance to test it out this evening on surface reddies around half submerged gum saplings, which should test it's abrasion resistance. Cheers, Jim
