Best light tackle spin reel not over $250-$300

I've (most likely) got a job at the local tackleworld, so I will have a bit of money to use (I'm 15 and this will have been my first job) and I was wondering what you guys think is the best small spin reel that is not too expensive (not over $300). I've been looking at the Stradic C14+'s and the Emeraldas 2506's. Or are there better options? Cheers, Jim

2nd hand Certate in a decent condition would be my 1st pick. Then a JDM Luvias on Digitaka.

I remember getting my first paycheck. Blew it all on fishing gear and to this day I don't regret it.

Both are nice reels . I have a stradic ci4+ 2500 and love it. Great light reel and very reliable. Take the rod you are going to use to work and try different reels and see what feels good to you. I have plenty of daiwa reels also that are very nice. In that price bracket a sol ii or if you get a discount at work and they stock them maybe a luvias. Daiwas seem to be the reel of choice by most on bm so there are sure to be more models to consider listed soon.

+1 on the Stradic CI4+ 2500 nice reel and light also very smooth.Cant complain also if you need a bigger spool you can use a 3000 on the 2500 body if you need the extra line. That for me is a winner.

Seems like its a bit of a toss up between a stradic and a luvias then.

But I also really like the look of the certate. A big plus in the daiwa's direction is the Magseal

I think I'm going to go with a certate, they seem the best pick of the bunch. A little more than I was planning to spend but they should be worth it, especially with Magseal.

Good choice, luvias great too but not as solid feeling, both made in Japan.

Ci4 are noisy and get clunky when worn in. Sustains are fairly good but for what you get for money the luvias is best.

If you don't want the extra weight of a certate but happy to spend that much there's the new presso and ignis👍

Nice reel. Bit heavier than the stradic and luvias. What are you targeting? Living in bendigo I assume mainly reddies, yellows, odd cod or trout unless you travel? I have no doubt in 12 months after working at tackle world you will be able to answer a few questions for folks on here.
