New Freams 2015
Hi guys just saw on the daiwa site that the new freams is on its way. Looks like an alright reel if the price remains similar to the current model. They seem to be packing more into the entry level which can only be a good thing.
notable inclusions are magseal, and the new ATD Automatic tournament drag, which looks interesting.

looks interesting
I believe they're available from Japan now waiting for the exist to be released Would that mean there's no need to adjust drag? |

That's alot of features for an entry reel! Hopefully they can keep the price down and it looks like a bargain!

ATD sounds a bit like magic. No matter how many times I read it. Must have been invented at the Daiwa R&D department in Hogwarts.

ATD??
So how far can that fish run with 1kg of drag before it increases? Far enough to get back into the structure from where it came?

Magseal means a Daiwa factory service for most people. You'll spend half the reel value on the first service

The 2004 weighs 250 grams?
That's almost a kayak anchor!

Yes looks a tad heavy.. Would be keen to hear how the ATD goes... Could be ok on the flats, but in structure there may be some issues..

Hey all pretty new to the forum and breamin in general only been into it for a couple years. Anyway I have a 2500 size freams and am considering another one of this new model. My question is it seems these reels don't get a lot of good feedback on BM, why is this so? My older freams feels pretty damn good to me I also have a certate 2500 r custom and to be honest I don't really feel that it is any smoother to use. Anyway just curious as to why they don't seem to be too popular and what would be a good alternative within that price bracket? $150 bucks delivered sounds like a pretty good deal I reckon.

Theres nothing wrong with them mate. People here just like premium gear and thumb their nose at cheaper stuff. For bream a 40 dollar shimano sienna is probably plenty good enough.

No one ever said they need $500 reels etc. we just want them! Sienna mightn't last as long but maybe you could buy a new one every year for ten years and still be ahead! |

![]() I actually think the Sienna's a bit plasticy. Go a sedona ... Get them from O/S for $50. I still use one now and again and as you say works just fine. Can't wait to get my new luvias though ![]() Freams look pretty good I reckon |
