Cheap Transom Electrics

Hi

Does anyone have any experience with the cheap electric motors you see on eBay? I need a transom mount for a small boat Im setting up (local lakes only allow electrics). It wont get huge use so I dont want to spend too much but at the same time I want a reliable motor.

Ill probably just get a name brand but wanted to check first in case anyone had something to add

Endura 30lb

Looking around $180 to $200 approx - the most costly thing you'll encounter is the battery and the charger for that! Looking around $400 for a decent charger and a 80amp hour battery now days - unless you source one from a old Telecom tower relay or a golf buggy.

Get a watersnake mate the transom mount jobs are very reliable and tough, I've run them on my canoe for years clocking up alot of hours and haven't ever had a major malfunction. If you look around you can usually find the saltwater 44/54lb models for $200 new.
