new fireline tournament exceed

Has anyone used the new fireline exceed? I am after a half decent bright braid and stumbled on there is a new exceed version out. Orange would be perfect.

I use Fireline Exceed 4 & 8lb. These spools were exchanged for 3 x each 150 yard spools... Win!

I think its pretty good in comparison to the first generation of Firelines - spools nicely, doesn't wind knot or fuzz with abrasion, casts a mile - ties extremely good knots! I dont use PE lines or braided as such so cant compare to them sorry.

I have herd unconfirmed stories about the Orange stuff breaking and all that - did buy a orange spool as pictured and took it back to get crystal all round.

Mind you its old tech and there will undoubtedly be comments about how Fireline sucks etc etc etc...

I've had a spool of the old exceed in 3.3lb for more than a year and it is great - for the price.

ive used 5lb orange exceed since it was first released on a caldia,
cant fault it thinner than 2lb crystal and as previously stated doesn't get fussy or air loop much, even without K guides! buy it you wont regret it,

As someone has suggested, I believe that the only thing "new" about exceed is the packaging!

It's a great line and I run it on several of my outfits and I find it thin, easy to see, casts well and rarely forms wind knots. The only criticism I have is that the last spool I purchased is starting to de-laminate and the different strands within the braid are pulling apart....it's still useable but it's not fun to tie knots in...

I use it on a couple of outfits for soft plastic fishing. Bright and easy to see. Havent had any dramas with it.

I put it on my new sustain 1000, had previously used standard braided lines and wanted to check out what all the fuss was with fireline, use the 4.4lb exceed in orange...pleasantly surprised. Nice n thin, casts a dream, ties well and none of the fuzz or deterioration that i've heard of the last lot. Still love my braided lines and i always used sunline super pe but this stuff might see me grabbing some 8lb for my spare spool

I've been using fireline for ages.

I've got the new Fireline from the 4lb right up until the 11lb. Can't fault it at all! Rarely get wind knots, ties knots easy and cheap as chips.

Digging up an old thread here, but I found that the diameter to be somewhat under-quoted. Spooled the 10 kg/22 lb on a stradic today. Quoted to be 0.23 mm, but back-calculated it to be closer to 0.265 mm (15% thicker than quoted, so don't expect to have as much line on your reel as you originally thought).
