Daiwa interline rods? future?....

G'day guys, I'm interested in opinion on interline rods, past present and future?
For example with the release of AGS do you think there's gonna be a place for interlines into the years from now?
They always seem to be around but did the concept ever really take off? No one ever copied the concept?
My dad has some baitcaster interlines that would be 15 years old at least so it seems daiwa will continue with them?

And are they ok to use?

Hey mate, i have a TMZ i 662ULFS and it is awesome. With a braid leader or straight thru set up, it casts really accurately. In the wind its amazing how much more control you have with this rod, and no guide wraps ever. It casts cranks far enough to use it on flats too. I actually want another one.

That's cool to hear mate cheers!
I'm looking at the 6'6 potentially as I'm wanting a shorter daiwa rod to match a luvias 2004. This will cover shortrange trout bream and small bass work.
I'm not keen on the megatop tips so the shorter battlers are out for me but I do love the 7 foot battlers.
The new ags commander 6'6 might be worth waiting for too but I wanna hear more about interline first...

Good to hear all the positive comments on the interline rods.
HOWEVER,if you do have a say wind knot in the tube of the interline itself....that's gonna pretty much means replacement top half.
That's what has happened to me on my interline rod.
It render the top half useless after the removal of the knots inside.
Just a caution.prefer to stick to the old system which is far more reliable.

How mate? No guides to tangle I thought a wind knot would just pull through?
Must've been a mega knot
That sucks

I remember when the concept first emerged in Aus.

Soon after there were complaints about noise from the rod and corrosion from within the rod, there was more and the concept near died out untill another recent emergence.

Honestly I would doubt I would ever give the concept a go, Just too far ahead of its time I think.

I can't see how that wind knot issue thing could happen like you have said.
I've always wanted to try a TMZ but not enough to invest in one, I've also heard casting unweighted plastics can be an issue as there is so much more surface area the line touches and when the inside of the blank gets wet the wet line sorta sticks to the walls with the water cohesion. But I reckon the 6'6" would be a gun stream trout rod and for one main reason alone, there is nothing more annoying while stream trout fishing than when your walking and bush bashing through vegetation and you line gets all caught up in leaves etc well having the line shielded inside the blank would eliminate a lot of that, plus its a fairy short rod and is light and I believe the 6'6" one is quite parabolic in action.

I've had two and while I think they are great to cast with I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Threading the line through them gets tiresome, limited repair options, having to send the rod back to Daiwa for tip replacements, deterioration of the internal structure damaging line and cleaning the internal structure is ridiculous as it is time consuming.

Interline technology is a dead horse that Daiwa keep beating.

Haha, you can't deny how good daiwa is especially the rods over Shimano.

I posted this over 2 years ago but my interest faded in favour for an extra AGS rod or two!
I'm once again wanting something a bit different so is anyone using the new SILVER WOLF Interline? I'm after some feedback they look mint.
Particularly the 662 ronin?

No feedback, but Daiwa Japan did announce a new AGS interline guide for one of their rod series. So maybe you can have the best of both:
