Rod advice please
Hi guys, Heading over to Perth on the 5th of May to meet my new grandson and to do a bit of fishing while i am there. I want a rod to fish for Bream and a rod that would handle some of the bigger fish. I will be staying in Mandurah and will be fishing around the canals and what ever else is on offer. My budget is 150aus per rod, I have been looking at the Daiwa generation black rods they look good value fro the money. Looking forward to your advice.

I havent fished with the generation black rods but ive had a good look at them in the tackle shops, they look like a great rod for the money and with a few different lengths/weight classes to choose from in the range. I doubt you'd regret buying one... Have a look at some of Samakis cheaper models, I have 4 Samakis ranging from their cheaper models right up to there pricey ones, all great rods for their price ranges.

Daiwa Gen black itchy twitchy is a solid all rounder for around 129.00 off ray and Anne's on the net. Otherwise a shimano mexican fire finesse bream around the same spot top rod mate.
Congrats on the dynasty carrier |

I run a gen black pinster and fish Mandurah on a weekly basis. Flicks the light stuff with ease and has plenty of pulling power for snags or some of the big skippy that call the cut home.

Gen black itchy twitchy for lighter + length, pinster for a little bit heavier, or as previously mentioned samaki have a heap of great rods in around that mark. Not sure what price but potentially the nordic stage one or black hole or hurricane series of rods in a 4-8lb 1/10 - 3/8 rating
