Funny you asked, I was just looking at these myself:

I am unlikely to buy them because, well, where am I going to find Salmon here in Darwin? But they are beautiful looking rods with not so scary price tags. The look reminds of the JDM Shimano World Shaulas.

A 9 or 10ft rod would be better suited if you are fishing the south coast. Daiwa Sensor Surf are a good option for that price.

You'd probably want a something around 8ft with a split grip and a nice gap between the bottom grip and the reel so you can really put your back into the cast. I used an egi rod for salmon fishing as the specs were perfect for the job but I heaved out a cast with a bit too much curry and snapped the handle off below the reel. It makes sense as the reel (where I was holding) was the pivot point in the cast and all the rod above that point couldn't accelerate fast enough in the cast and something had to give. Something to keep in mind

Well under your price range , but i use a Shimano Starlo Stix 9 foot , 5-10kg.....It has landed some large salmon and kingies up to 7kg
For a cheap(ish) rod they are very nice in the hand , cast slugs a mile and can handle impressive fish

I have been using a Daiwa Seajigger for a few years. I love it. I have heard the newer ones aren't as good as the older ones so it may pay to look around. They are expensive but a damn nice stick. I pulled in a 30kg shark off the stones in Airlie Beach with one no sweat.

A nitro Magnum Butt fits your criteria, except for the price perhaps, but it's not that much more.

+1 on the magnum butt, will serve you well and has a great warranty policy if anything should ever happen
