There's plenty of good lines on the market.
At the moment I'm using 3lb Sunline Sniper and happy enough with it that I'll use it again next time I respool.

In my oppinion it would have to be yamatoyo spinning fluro
i dont use it as a strait through line i use it as a leader, its supple and its amazing as a leader i would use it as strait through for sure though

I've tried a few. Sniper has too much memory for me. Falls off the spool a lot for my technique. I've found by far the most user friendly to be Unitika Silver Thread in 3 and 4lb.
Line System is not too bad. The Toray I've heard lots of good reports but not tried.

I have 5lb sniper and yes I too have memory issues. I stretch it out at the oval but doesn't take long for coils to return. I've got 2lb sniper spooled on a 1000 reel so will be interesting to see if it have less issues with thinner line. Wish if got 3lb - bit scared fishing hb with 2lb lol
Will prob try 3 or 4lb in something else when it's time to respool |

I had a few problems with light sunline fluoro straight through (FC Sniper) and now use 3lb varivas light-game nylon, which has been tangle free and casts much better as it is a more supple line than fluoro... hence why nylon is more often used for trout in japan. I think at such small diameters the refractive index does not make such a measurable - or for fish seeable - difference.
